Zurich, Day one

It has always surprised me that Finland is a popular summer holiday destination for the Swiss. It would seem that mountains, mild climate, green meadows and grazing cows from Milka chocolate adverts should inspire the Swiss to holiday in their own country, but no, they fly north to visit the land of a thousand lakes. So I decided to explore this theme and get to know the mysterious inhabitants of Switzerland 🙂

Zurich was greeted with cold, wind and a low cloud cover. However, there is nothing to spoil a walk through the historic districts of the city, which has more than 1000 years of history. Time flew and I still could not escape from this splendour – I wanted to take in the greatness of the city, to disappear into it, to breathe in the clean, cool air. I suddenly realised that I didn’t feel like a guest in Zurich. It was an amazing feeling that I hadn’t left Finland… the place was safe, clean, people smiled and tried to help whenever possible. Of course, I am trying to compare things that cannot be compared, but the canton of Zurich is mentally similar to Finland, it sounds the same note and gives its guests a feeling of inner comfort and peace…
