Every year at the Vyartsilya-Niirala checkpoint, which is a border point between Russia and Finland (if anyone does not know ) … so, every year in mid-December on the border between of the two countries there is a meeting of Russian Santa Claus and Finnish Joulupukki.
Both magic heroes arrive at the line of demarcation with their escort and, after brief mutual congratulations, try to surprise each other with a performance of support groups.
A choir of schoolchildren, snowflakes and other New Year’s heroes – thay changes from year to year, but one thing remains unchanged – an excellent festive mood.
After meeting Santa Claus and Joulupukki begin their usual occupation – presenting gifts to children. They are visiting day cares and schools on both sides of the state border.
The peoples reaction for the show was surprised – if the positive attitude of the direct participants is quite understandable, then the smiles of the drivers who, in a small traffic jam, were waiting for the end of this show (the border was closed), became a certain surprise for me.
Probably, it’s time for little Christmas and New Year’s miracles … 🙂
